First Promo for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Drops

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

If you’re like me, you can’t get enough of the Marvel movie-verse. And, when I first heard about the possibility of a S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, I nearly jumped out of my skin with joy. As more news came out about the project, the more I grew school girl giddy. It is now known that Joss Whedon will direct the show’s pilot episode, and from the promo that you can see below, that it completely evident.

Check it out.

My hope is that this will be as good as the movies, but only time (and to which degree my expectations lie) can tell me if that is true. But, from what I’ve seen in this promo, I can’t help but get excited. And, with Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) back, let the speculation begin as to how he survived that awful stabbing on board the helicarrier (SPOILERS).

For the record, I think that Coulson is some sort of android. A smart, serious, cello-playin’ android. Anyone?

What do you think of the promo?

All Hail Judge Minty

Lawless Cursed Earth - Judge Dredd

I’ve expressed my love for Judge Dredd in the past. I currently subscribe to the IDW run of the British comic. And, like any good Dredd fan, I hate the 1995 Sylvester Stallone abomination. Needless to say, I am a fan, and this fan has found a fan film based on Dredd that is worthy of cinematic cannon status.

Behold the tale of Judge Minty, a friend of Dredd’s who become too old for his shoulder pads, and chose to take to the Cursed Earth instead of the classroom to complete his service to Mega-City One and The Law. But, what makes this fan film so interesting is that 2000 AD, the company that produces Judge Dredd, actually game the filmmakers the go-ahead to use their characters and to show this film at various film festivals. And, with that freedom, the filmmakers were able to better represent the characters.

Above all of that is the fact that this film, that has been in the making since 2008, can be seen, in it’s entirety, for free on YouTube. So, if you have about a half hour, you too can experience a film that is purely for fan pleasure. Judge Minty is not only a comic fan’s delight, it is also visually pleasing as well. This film should give hope to those your filmmakers out there who think that they can’t make a good looking movie on a small budget. Not to sound sappy, but if there is a lot of love in your heart for your project, it’ll turn out awesome.

Now, enough of that mushy crap! Let’s get to some ass kicking! You can check out the full film below.

Do you think this film does the world of Judge Dredd justice?

Kevin Smith is Officially Done With First Draft of Clerks III

As you can see from the photo above, Kevin Smith, our patron saint of nerdiness, has completed the script for his last film, Clerks III. Smith, who is always very open with his fans, posted the above photo on his Facebook page with the following caption:

At 137 pages, it plays like THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK of what’s now become the Clerks Trilogy. And I am SO in love with it. Pictured is the script with the clapboard we used on the original CLERKS. Both the old clapboard and the old filmmaker are ready to go back to Jersey for the last time…

It’s time to get both excited and sad, Smith fans. Although this is his last film, it is still another Kevin Smith film. And, that is nothing to be sad about. Yes, even if it is Jersey Girl, because that movie was great, no matter what Smith has to say about it.

I’ll keep you updated on this film’s progress.
