This week is the week of television news. Along with the release of it’s fall primetime schedule, Fox also released it’s first trailer for the upcoming mini-series Gracepoint. The Broadchurch remake stars the original series lead, David Tennant, alongside Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn as two detectives in a small California town who are investigating the murder of a young boy. You can check out the trailer (and Tennant’s interesting American accent) below:
According to The Nerdist, this new series will have the involvement of Broadchurch creator, Chris Chibnall, who even went so far as to pen the show’s first episode. Also, to keep the premise interesting, the identity of the killer has changed from that of the original, along with other changes. So, this new take can be enjoyed by both the Broadchurch fans and newcomers alike.
For me, though, I haven’t been able to see the original. Nowhere, not Netflix nor Amazon Prime Video offer the show for subscription viewing. Nevertheless, I am a David Tennant fan, and to get to see him on the television will be a delight. What do you think about either the original series or the new American iteration?
Gracepoint will air this fall on Thursdays at 9 pm EST on Fox. The series will also star Michael Peña, Nick Nolte, Jacki Weaver, and Virginia Kull.
