The comic book TV show previews keep coming! Shortly after the season finale of Arrow this week, The CW released the first extended trailer for it’s latest DC Comics adaptation, The Flash. With all the success that Arrow has brought to the network, it seems The CW has doubled down on the action and effects with this series. So long as they don’t add any shoddy digital corn (Smallville, I’m looking at you) it should look spectacular.
Check out the trailer below to see what you think.
The Flash, which first premiered as a backdoor pilot during the first half of Arrow’s second season, follows the tale of the young Central City P.D. lab tech Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) as he learns to embrace his new powers: the ability to run faster than any other human alive. Allen, who was struck by lightning during the meltdown of S.T.A.R. Labs’ particle accelerator, will use his new-found abilities to help fight crime and solve the mystery of his mother’s death.
Admittedly, I was a little leary about there being a Flash TV series. What is there to say and do with a guy who can just run fast? I’m sure comic book fans could spend hours telling me how great he is (I haven’t read many Flash comics) and I can’t say I’d disagree with them, because this trailer looks pretty good. And, if they bring Booster Gold into it (which there are zero rumors to back up this hope) I’m in for the long haul.
